CLEAR INFORMATION, BEFORE YOU MOVE

Damage & Claims Policy

How to record delivery concerns, report missing or damaged goods and discuss the included insurance benefit.

Last updated:

1. Business and policy scope

This policy applies to moving services arranged with Praveen Manchu Consulting under the brand shiftting.com. It explains how to report a concern and how the advertised insurance benefit relates to a claim.

Read it with the inventory, written quotation, booking confirmation and the actual insurance documents supplied for your move. It does not replace the insurer’s policy or remove rights and remedies under applicable law.

2. Included goods insurance: up to 5% of goods value

Free goods insurance is included with the moving service, with cover up to 5% of the goods value. The 5% describes the maximum advertised cover relative to the goods value; it is not an extra 5% premium charged to you under this offer.

For example, if the agreed goods value is ₹1,00,000, cover up to 5% means a maximum advertised insurance amount of ₹5,000, subject to the actual policy and an eligible claim. It does not mean full-value replacement cover or an automatic payment of 5% for every incident.

Before booking, confirm the declared value, insured amount, insurer, policy or certificate details, covered goods and risks, exclusions, deductibles if any, valuation method and claim procedure in writing. Additional cover, if requested, requires separate confirmation.

The insurance benefit and its limit do not determine or exclude any separate responsibility or remedy that may arise under applicable law.

3. Before packing and pickup

Prepare an inventory of the goods included in the move, with quantities and identifying details where useful. Point out fragile, high-value, heavy or unusual items and any existing damage. Keep dated photographs of significant items and their condition.

Confirm who is packing each item, the agreed packing scope and any special handling requirements. Agree the goods valuation and insurance arrangements before the move; do not assume that every item or every risk has the same cover.

Carry essential documents, medicines, money, jewellery and portable personal valuables yourself unless a different arrangement is expressly agreed. For office moves, arrange data backups and identify who is responsible for sensitive records and equipment.

4. Check items at delivery

Where reasonably possible, compare delivered goods with the inventory, review visible condition and note missing items, packaging damage or outstanding agreed work with the receiving coordinator. Keep a copy of any delivery note and record the concern accurately.

Do not sign a statement you know is inaccurate. If a delivery document does not allow you to record a concern, send a written message with photographs and the relevant details. A concern discovered after delivery can still be reported.

5. How to report damage or a missing item

Contact +91 93471 07005 promptly and follow up in writing at info@shiftting.com or in your existing WhatsApp booking conversation. Include your name, booking reference if available, pickup and delivery dates, affected item and a clear description of what happened.

Provide relevant photographs, inventory or delivery-note entries, packing photographs if available, and a reasonable basis for the stated item value. Keep damaged packaging where practical and safe until inspection requirements are clarified.

The request to report promptly is intended to help preserve evidence. This page does not impose a fixed short deadline or automatically reject a concern because it was not reported at the doorstep. An insurer may have specific notification requirements, which should be provided with the policy documents.

6. Review, inspection and supporting records

The team will review the information, compare it with the agreed scope and inventory, and request any reasonably necessary clarification. Where relevant, inspection or an insurer’s assessment may be needed.

Before arranging a non-urgent repair, disposal or replacement, ask whether inspection or documentation is required. Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage where safe, and retain photographs and related expenses. Urgent safety needs should not be ignored.

Keep your original records. Send copies of documents needed for the review, and avoid sharing unrelated personal or financial information.

7. Possible outcomes and insurance assessment

Depending on the facts and applicable responsibilities, a concern may be resolved through locating a missing item, completing agreed work, an agreed repair, compensation or an insurance claim. No particular outcome or payment amount is guaranteed by submitting a report.

Insurance eligibility, valuation, deductions and settlement are governed by the applicable policy and claim assessment. The advertised 5% limit is a ceiling on that insurance benefit, not a promise that every loss will qualify or that other legal remedies are capped at 5%.

Ask for the outcome and reasons in writing. If a payment or repair is proposed, clarify the amount or scope and any document you are asked to accept. This page does not require you to sign a blanket waiver of rights.

8. Separately arranged work and equipment

Warehouse storage, plumber, electrician or technician assistance, specialist equipment and other additional work should have a clearly agreed scope and responsible provider. Ask which arrangements and insurance apply before accepting them.

For office equipment, distinguish physical handling from data backup, disconnection, installation and testing. Do not assume that goods insurance covers software, data loss, technical setup or every business interruption; check the actual policy terms.

9. If your concern remains unresolved

Email info@shiftting.com with the booking details, earlier correspondence, evidence and the outcome you are seeking. Ask for the applicable insurer contact or claim reference where insurance is involved.

You may use any applicable insurer grievance process and the consumer or legal remedies available to you. This policy does not prevent you from approaching a competent authority, consumer forum or court.
